Lisa Parikh, PT
Physiotherapist
Lisa holds a Hon. Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto and a Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. During her time at McMaster, Lisa had the opportunity to obtain experience in a variety of outpatient and hospital clinics including a Northern Studies clinical rotation in Geraldton, Ontario.
Lisa believes in always striving to find the source of her patient’s pain and treating the dysfunction, not only the symptoms. In order to achieve this goal, she has taken more than 15 courses on advanced manual therapy techniques, myofascial release, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, SFMA, neurokinetic therapy and muscle retraining. She focuses on a holistic approach and ensures after a thorough assessment, she will develop a patient centered treatment plan involving manual therapy, exercises and education to prevent re-injury.
Lisa uses the variety of skills she has acquired to assist with not only pain and movement dysfunction but also to assist with TMJ (jaw) dysfunction, headaches, swelling in the legs, digestive issues such as reflux or IBS, diastasis recti (post-partum abdominal weakness), pelvic floor dysfunction, bladder incontinence and sinus congestion. Lisa has also been a preceptor for training physiotherapy assistant students, kinesiologists and resident physiotherapists.
After spending a year living in New Zealand, she has a great appreciation for the outdoors and enjoys hiking and biking, and working out.
