Heather Buckle, PT
Physiotherapist & Certified Pilates Instructor
Known for her strengths in clinical diagnostics, in combination with her vision for the ideal client-centric collaborative approach and her thirst for knowledge and growth, Heather has built a strong reputation as a Registered Physiotherapist since graduating from Queen’s University in 2003 with her Physical Therapy Degree (BSc.PT Honours). For 17 years Heather has been helping patients stay in sport, recover from injury and return to sport, and improve their health.
As a multi-sport athlete herself in volleyball, track and field, swimming, snowboarding, mountain biking and road cycling, Heather’s background in a variety of sports brings an enhanced understanding and resolve that refines her approach to treatment. Heather has trained and rehabbed numerous teams over the years and covered countless events as the event therapist and first responder, ranging from hockey, volleyball, basketball, triathlon and competitive gymnastics. Heather is certified as a Developmental Coach with Volleyball Canada and has coached Volleyball for several years in Newfoundland, including with the TEAM NL Provincial Training program. Heather is also a certified Level 1 Pilates Instructor and has found this integration extremely valuable for her rehabilitation practice with athletes.
Heather loves the science of how the human body responds to exercise and injury and tailors each comprehensive assessment mindfully to ensure an accurate clinical diagnosis and most effective treatment plan. She feels that this passion combined with her love for an athlete’s determination and grit equates to a rehab process that is rich with attention to detail that helps her athletes stay in sport or return to sport successfully. With her extensive history with pre and post op athlete planning and health team collaboration, she is better able to help her clients that require surgical intervention and will collaborate with the orthopedic team to ensure the most seamless process possible. She will forever be an athlete advocate and will diligently work towards helping you meet your goals.
Heather is currently completing her ImPact Concussion Credentialing and is a Sports Physiotherapy Certificate Candidate. Heather continues to seek opportunities to develop in her profession and to be involved in sport and in the community, both professionally and personally.
Relatively new to Ontario, Heather can be found with her husband, 2 teenagers and their chocolate lab, loving every adventure and opportunity this region has to offer.
